Over the years we have had the pleasure of guiding thousands of pilgrims along the Halls of our Temples. Walking with them constantly reminds us that there is so much more to discover in them! Every wall, every color, every symbol take on new meanings as they are perceived through the eyes and the hearts of our guests from all over the world. To share our guests’ insights, we will be posting regularly some of their comments. We hope you’ll enjoy them as much as we do.
This time the Temples are told by Terry Gilbey.
Terry is General Manager and CEO of Esalen Institute, the world-renowned retreat center for the advancement of Consciousness located in Big Sur, California. For more than half a century Esalen has been offering workshops and programs devoted to cultivating deep change in self and society. The Institute played a key role in the Human Potential Movement in the 1960s.
When Terry retired from the corporate world over10 years ago he went to Esalen as a work scholar; touched by the community’s mission, he got more and more involved and he became part of Esalen’s management. In his travels around the world, Terry loves to exchange ideas, dreams and practical approaches with other intentional communities: this is the reason he came to Damanhur. In this video, he shares his impressions on the Temples and the power of community in creating extraordinary things.
