The Temples of Humankind are a journey into the magic of making your dreams a reality. They are a mark in time, leaving a trace well beyond our imagination. Excavating the Temples meant digging within ourselves, finding new spaces and new access to our full potential.

What is extraordinary about someone you see every day, someone you meet on the street, on the subway, or at the cafe, while reading the newspaper, drinking a cappuccino, or working in the office, where you repeat the same motions every day? Apparently nothing, but if you change the lens of the glasses you look through, everything changes and even the man selling sandwiches on the street corner becomes a special person, and his life a legendary endeavor.

The Oracle of January is dedicated to these special and magical days of the end of the year. May our inner work be profound and fruitful for all of us and for the world.

Starting six years ago, people have had the opportunity to participate in the New Life Program at Damanhur, a 3-month period during which temporary citizens live together with us, trying out the experience of living in community.

In 1985 we decided to construct the Open Temple at Damjl where some kiwi trees were growing. The vision of 22 columns open to the sky made us dream right away, even if we didn't have the slightest idea how to build them!

May the thread that connects the hearts of all those we have met always be luminous, flexible and strong. And most of all, may it prevent anyone from ever feeling alone.

In Damanhur you can often participate in our art courses with several levels. There is an Art School Basic Course that is held over two days, offered by our instructors who are artists and painters of the Temples of Humankind.

In early December, Macaco Tamerice traveled to Ghana as facilitator of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) conference. After 23 hours of travel, she arrived in Accra and went to the hotel where almost all the participants of the conference were staying, 56 in total.

In Damanhur our mission is not only to create a new world, it's to offer tools and experiences so that others can do the same. We want to inspire people to dream of goals that seem impossible, ones that can become reality by uniting with others in devotion and optimism, creating change for the future of our planet.

In this period of rebirths, we propitiate the reawakening of memories and the soul mission of each person.

Even though at Damanhur we hold optimism as a spiritual value, so much so that it is mentioned in our Constitution, and usually I am the first one to wave the optimism flag in any given situation, in these weeks I'm finding it really had to feel and believe that everything is going in a direction of growth, toward union and peace on earth.

It's clear that this is an urgent time for humanity, for awakening our capacity to come back into harmony, with each other, with nature, to create sustainable structures and channels of connection beyond dividing lines of diversity. We need a revolution and we won't get there by doing the same things that we have always done, that everyone else is doing.

Autumn in the woods is full of colors, lights, chestnuts, and also celebrations. For the second year in a row, around mid-October in the Sacred Woods Temple we celebrated the chestnut harvest.

From November 12-17, 2016, Damanhurian Macaco Tamerice was at the United Nations climate change conference COP 22, which has been held every year for 22 years. This year it was held in Marrakesh, Morocco, and Macaco was one of the delegates, thanks to Damanhur's participation in the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN).

Living in the Sacred Woods Temple of Damanhur means waking up in these autumn days immersed in marvelous colors that span all shades of yellow, brown and red. There are mornings when the bosco-castagne-2bright sunlight filters through the foliage of the oak and chestnut trees, making them sparkle and covering them with a truly magical aura.

One of the questions I hear very often is why hasn't Damanhur failed yet? How come after nearly 40 years of existence, it's still growing and thriving? Lots of communities are launched and then disband after a few years, five, seven, ten. 15 years is even considered a really long time to stay together as a community project. I'd say there are a couple of key reasons that as Damanhurians, we have been able to keep things together, growing and evolving.

For many years we had the New Life Program, an opportunity to live in Damanhur as a temporary cityzen for 3 months. now we also have the Aminè program an intensive ten days program to explore different aspect of the community.

Since 1985, the members of the Way of the Oracle work in deep and dedicated ritual to bring forth messages from the Divine Forces. The Damanhurian Oracle is not a person, but a group of Forces which includes all the Oracles of ancient times.
