The guest in this episode is Eric Maddern, a storyteller, musician and writer, whose vision brought to life Cae Mabon, a magical eco-village resort center in Wales, inspired by the ancient stories and mythology of that ancient land. Born in Australia and educated in England, after graduating in social sciences Eric spent ten years traveling around the world seeking a deeper understanding of humanity and himself. This culminated in working as a community artist in the Aboriginal communities of Central Australia, an experience that touched him profoundly. After returning to Britain he moved to North Wales where, with other like-minded friends, he created Cae Mabon at the foot of the mystical Mount Snowdon. Now, many years later, Cae Mabon is a spiritual destination for people seeking healing and inspiration from all over the world.
In 2008 Professor Tom Woolley declared Cae Mabon the “number one natural building project in the UK. ”Philip Car-Gomm, the Chief Druid of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, says that Cae Mabon is the most druid-like place he knows anywhere in the world.
Together with his partner Angharad Wynne, Eric also founded the Dadeni SPIRIT School — SPIRIT is an acronym for ‘a Soulful and Practical Inquiry to Re-imagine Indigenous Tradition’. DADENI is Welsh for rebirth, and it offers six retreats during a three-year course in the mysteries and old ways of Britain, to discover how to harness ancient wisdom and lore to bring balance to our lives in this time.
In his storytelling, Erik tells stories that have at their heart the reawakening of the Goddess. This is the century of women, the time for women to step up in their power and be supported by men.
